Product Details
+An oversized and layered shirt dress from Issey Miyake. I believe this is 80s, based on the maker's label and the care tag. The inner garment is styled like a shirt with banded collar, shirt tail hem and deep batwing sleeves. The outer piece is a straight cut vest, part of the shirt's structure around the back of the neck and through the shoulders, then separate below the mid armholes. The vest-like structure has two deep inner pockets accessed from the its inner front placket.

FABRIC/COLORS: Dark wash cotton denim, light to medium weight with a lightly brushed surface. Stitching is off-white.
TAGS: Issey Miyake Plantation, made in Hong Kong
CLOSURES: Eight small silvertone buttons down the front - they remind me of the rivets used on old time denim. Each cuff has a pair of the same buttons for snugger or looser fit.
CONDITION: There are subtle areas of fading on the left rear shoulder, right upper chest, and the lower "shirt" below where the bottom of the "vest" hits - difficult to show in photos, and actually a bit easier to see from the inside of the garment (where it has a beige tone) than the outside - see closeups. Given the nature of washable denim and the patina it acquires over time, this may or may not bother you. I consulted with several of my vintage fashion colleagues, and the consensus was that it was most likely a design feature, not a flaw. I don't see any other issues - no stains, holes or tears.
